My good friend Caprice Crane's new book, With a Little Luck, is out today. Yay, Caprice!
It's gotten great reviews:
"Crane is one of the funniest writers of popular fiction around. The dialog (inner and outer) is laugh-out-loud, snort-inducing hilarious . . . Readers will want to cross their fingers and spit while throwing salt over their shoulders if it helps Berry reach her dreams. Highly recommended."
—Library Journal
"Fans of Stacy Ballis and Cara Lockwood will appreciate Crane's effortlessly funny style, which is often attempted in popular fiction but is rarely this well executed...Lighthearted and charmingly honest."
—Booklist
"[A] satisfying romantic comedy...[with] real character growth."
—Kirkus Reviews
And even better blurbs:
"Romantic, poignant and funny—this book is a lucky find for lit fans. Caprice Crane is a nimble and gifted storyteller."
—Diablo Cody, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Juno
"A hilarious romp that oozes charm and giddy fun. Caprice Crane is a true talent."
—Molly Jong-Fast, author of The Social Climber's Handbook
"Witty, fast-paced, and sheer fun. Caprice Crane is a master of dialogue. Half the time I was reading this book I was smiling, which made me look like a crazy person on the subway."
—Jancee Dunn, author of Don’t You Forget About Me and Why Is My Mother Getting a Tattoo?
"Absolutely charming and hilarious."
—Missy Peregrym, star of the movie Stick It and ABC's Rookie Blue
"With a Little Luck scores in humor, head, and heart. In other words, it’s a perfect trifecta."
—Karyn Bosnak, author of 20 Times a Lady (soon to be the major motion picture What's Your Number?)
(Omg, who is that last fantastic blurber?) (I meant every word of it.)
And most importantly, she has the cutest dog ever (who likes to video chat with Bev):

Anyway, check it out, buy it—it's fantastic!

Start decorating your Christmas tree! The holidays are coming early this year for Beliebers everywhere. On Wednesday, Justin Bieber tweeted updates about his music video for the lead single off his holiday-themed album, which drops in November.
Bieber and his team kept fans up-to-date about what was going down on set. "Video shoot today for Christmas album. #mistletoe," he wrote, before confirming the name of the track and a release date for the album. "On the set of #mistletoe. Christmas is coming early this year. #nov1st."
The shoot wasn't kept under wraps, and Bieber didn't mind the crowds that gathered to watch him celebrate the holidays a few months early. He also tweeted a photo of himself with Santa Claus and wrote, "doing the #dougie with santa. #real. haha. #mistletoe."
It seems everyone involved with the shoot is pretty stoked about it. "Getting incredible reports from the @justinbieber #mistletoe video ... seems like this is going to be a big song and a big video. #superstar," Scooter Braun tweeted, with videographer Alfredo Flores adding, "4am and we're still out here putting in work! This video is going to be magical! @justinbieber is killin it! #mistletoe."
The video was directed by Roman White, who previously worked with Bieber on his "One Less Lonely Girl" clip, as well as videos for Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Blake Shelton.
While the album title hasn't been confirmed, online retailers like Amazon are already pre-selling the album with the tentative title Under the Mistletoe and a November 1 release date.
In addition to confirmed duets with the Band Perry and Boyz II Men, as well as rumored collabos with Taylor Swift and Sean Kingston, Bieber confirmed that his mentor Usher will also appear on the album.
"Just finished a late nt in the studio for the Christmas album ... it is OFFICIAL ... my big bro @UsherRaymondIV is on the album with me! #EPIC," he tweeted. "This duet with me and @USHERRAYMONDIV for #christmas is CRAZY!!!"

Contrary to what the tabloids say, Jennifer Aniston has not spent the past 10 years frantically plotting to have a baby. In a "Women in Hollywood" feature for Elle magazine, Aniston, 42, says she'd be happy to start a family -- "but it's not what you read."
"There's no desperation," she explains. "If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I'm at peace with whatever the plan is."
The actress, who has yet to speak about her much-publicized relationship with 40-year-old actor Justin Theroux, then adds: "But will you hate me if I say I don't want to talk about my relationship?" (Ha! We can just picture that poor reporter's face falling.)One thing Aniston does want to talk about is the time she stood up to an obnoxious male director -- by throwing a chair at him!
"It wasn't my proudest moment," she says. "He was treating a script supervisor horribly... When the director walked in, I threw a chair at him. I missed, of course. I was like, 'You can't speak to people like that.' I can't tolerate it."
Other Hollywood women featured in the Elle piece include Naomi Watts, Barbra Streisand, Evan Rachel Wood, Viola Davis, Freida Pinto, Michele Pfeiffer, Dreamworks CEO Stacey Snider, and up-and-coming actress Elizabeth Olsen. No topic was off-limits, including plastic surgery, sexism and love scenes."I'm all for a little something here and there -- fine," says Pfeiffer, 53, when asked about cosmetic surgery. "It doesn't matter to me if people have plastic surgery or they don't, or if they do Botox. But when people don't look like themselves anymore, that's when you kind of go, 'Oooh,' and it's kind of sad. It's uncomfortable for us, but if they're happy with what they see in the mirror, does it matter?'"
And Wood, 24, shares her secret for doing nude scenes. "I learned that I needed to control the situation in order not to be too self-conscious," she says. "I said to myself, I'm an awesome naked lady, and there's an energy that I'm going give off right now that lets you know how you're going to feel about this."
On a more serious note, The Help star Viola Davis points out that Hollywood has a long way to go when it comes to casting women of color.
"The money changed (since my Oscar nomination)," says Davis, 46. "The visibility changed. The quality of the roles? No. I've been blessed to have been cast in some imaginative roles, but there's generally a lack of opportunity for women of color in Hollywood."

Tuesday wasn't a good day for Eddie Cibrian. The star was injured on the Chicago set of The Playboy Club on the same day NBC announced it was canceling the low-rated period drama.
The handsome leading man, who's usually in the news for his marriage to LeAnn Rimes, injured his right heel while running down an alley at the West Side studio set, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The actor -- who plays lawyer Nick Dalton, a Playboy Club regular -- suffered a deep gash on his heel after it got caught underneath a 200-pound steel door, the source told the Sun-Times. Cibrian, 38, was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injury. No further information about his treatment or stay has been released.
Although NBC announced Tuesday that it was canceling the show, which only aired three episodes to disappointing ratings and dismal reviews, the production company is continuing to film episodes until Oct. 10 in hopes that another network will pick up the sexy series.
And as if all that wasn't enough bad news for Cibrian, an alleged drunk driver crashed into his California home on Monday morning. Poor guy!

Buckingham Palace has newest royal Kate Middleton to thank for providing a boost in tourism. The Palace confirmed Tuesday that Kate's bridal gown drew in record-breaking crowds while on public display this summer.
Although exact numbers are not available, the Palace's rep says that more than 600,000 fans visited the exhibit from late July to Oct. 3.
"It is an incredible figure," says the spokeswoman for the Royal Collection, which curates the exhibit every year. "It is easily a record. We were thrilled to welcome people from all over the world and delighted it has been such a huge success."
Middleton's nearly $500,000 dress -- designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen -- raised the exhibit's turn out considerably from last year. In addition to the exquisite gown, visitors were able to see the diamond Cartier tiara Queen Elizabeth II lent her new granddaughter-in-law for the wedding, as well as the diamond earrings her parents had made with their family's crest and her beautiful wedding shoes.
Proceeds for this year's exhibit will go toward William and Kate's wedding charity fund, which will be distributed to charitable organizations the couple supports, including children's charities, and support for service men and women's families.
